This expedition is possible due to a partnership with Pete Mesley of Lust4Rust. Pete has taken great time and expense to hire and supply the vessel, MV Indies Surveyor. Built tough for hard assignments, this 76 ft LOA survey vessel is the perfect remote location marine operations platform and has delivered on countless projects in the remote corners of the Pacific. The Indies is a proven safe dive platform that will have a double lock decompression chamber along with a physician and all the necessary technical diving gear on board. It will be home to 9 passengers plus tour leader, Mike Gerken.

In 1946, the US government began nuclear testing at the remote Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Anchored in the lagoon was a target fleet of WWII-era American and Japanese warships. Some sank directly from the force of the blasts, while others were scuttled shortly after. Today, they form a legendary, world-class wreck diving site featuring iconic vessels like the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga and the Japanese battleship Nagato. Nowhere else on Earth offers such a dense concentration of historic naval power. Steeped in history and unmatched in scale, Bikini Atoll is the Mount Everest of wreck diving—and the trip of a lifetime awaits.

Need to know
Max Dept 190’/57M; Average 140'/42m
Must be Tech rated for three gas decompression diving i.e. PADI Tec 50 or equivalent
2 decompression dives per day for 9 days
Full technical and medical support provided.
CCR and OC friendly.
OC divers will be required to pay additional $1000 if using trimix.
The “Indies Surveyor” has a dive ladder designed with tec divers in mind. A staircase style with a forgiving pitch to minimize strain upon egress.
Insurance
Dive Accident Insurance such as DAN (Divers Alert Network) is mandatory to take part in this expedition.

Remote Diving

Remote technical diving such as Bikini Atoll, is inherently risky and while every effort is made to conduct this expedition safely, there is always the potential for injury. This is why we bring a physician on these trips. However, the presence of a one may not fully mediate a medical crisis if one should occur. Extreme caution on behalf of all attendees is urged.
Medical assessment
A higher level of physical fitness is required to attend this trip. Since we will be 30 to 60 hours from advanced medical care—your safety is our top priority. We require a comprehensive dive-medical examination prior to booking if you:
Are aged 65 or older
Have pre-existing medical conditions or take daily prescription medications
Are significantly overweight or out of physical shape
Have never received a medical clearance from a certified hyperbaric or diving doctor
Please consult a diving physician and describe the remote nature of this expedition. If they advise against participating, we urge you to honor their assessment for your own safety and the well-being of everyone on board.
