Mike Gerken is the owner of Evolution Dive Travel and an acclaimed Underwater Photographer & seasoned explorer. Join him on one of his world class expeditions as he personally guides you through the planet’s most breathtaking diving destinations. Leaving the NYC corporate life in the late 1990s, Mike set out to explore the world working in the diving industry in a myriad of positions including captain for liveaboard dive operations. While at the helm of the Truk Odyssey in Truk Lagoon, he discovered a deep passion for underwater photography in 2004—a pursuit that continues to take him to the far corners of the globe.

Throughout his career, Mike’s photography and feature articles have appeared in numerous publications, while his footage has aired on networks like Nat Geo Wild. An accomplished filmmaker, he has directed, written and self produced three acclaimed documentaries: Wreck Denizens of North Carolina, The Wrecks of Truk Lagoon, and The Wreck of the SS President Coolidge—each earning recognition within and beyond the diving community.
